PNGTA GUIDE BIOGRAPHIES
Pam Christie Pam Christie is the principal of PNG Trekking Adventures and has lived in Papua New Guinea since 1990 based in Port Moresby, she has a wide knowledge and understanding of local conditions, customs and traditions.
When PNGTA was formed Pam spent 12 months trekking all over Papua New Guinea going into very remote areas where white people had not ventured since the end of WW11 or before. As a woman and an explorer in this land this was unheard of. With the backing of the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority she has been able to open up many tracks throughout the country allowing the villages to directly benefit from tourism. The Skindiwai/Black Cat and the Bull Dog Tracks are just two of the tracks that are now up and running commercially.
Prior to Pam going into the villages in these areas there was no health, education, water or communication. This is now all changing. Be it slowly but it is changing.
Born in Gore, New Zealand Pam spent many years trekking and climbing in that country and throughout the world before moving to Papua New Guinea to live with her husband Mark.
Pam is qualified in wilderness first aid and is a very experienced career guide. Is extremely knowledgeable regards the WW11 history relating to Papua New Guinea and has spent extensive periods out on tracks exploring and knows where all the hidden ammunition pits and artefacts are situated.
In liaison with such organisations as the Tourism Promotion Authority, the Kokoda Track Authority and Australian High Commission in Papua New Guinea they are working together to implement sustainable tourism within the country so that Papua New Guineans directly benefit from tourism income. She is also trying to ensure that the ongoing environmental issues in PNG are being addressed.
Papua New Guinea is her home and her passion. Her one hope is that what she is trying to achieve will make a difference to the lives of the people that she comes in contact with.
Nikki George
Nikki is our most experienced guide. She is married and has been living in the “Land of the Unexpected” since 2002.

As PNG Trekking Adventures, resident war historian, Nikki's knowledge of the World War Two history in Papua New Guinea is outstanding and will leave an indelible mark on your experience.
Nikki will take you to unknown, historically significant off track sites, revealing unspoiled war artifacts that she has discovered during previous exploratory treks.
Nikki has led all of our treks numerous times (from extreme to historical journeys), and is a favourite of the villagers (and Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels) you will meet along the way.
Anybody that has trekked with Nikki has found it to be a most rewarding experience if not a life changing one.
The majority of our repeat clients request Nikki as their guide.
To us this is the stamp of approval attesting to her high standards and extreme professionalism when out in the field.

He has been working as a porter and guide along the Kokoda Trail since 2000
and has done the track 35 times.
